The Learning Curve
I have spent eight years as a sessional tutor at Lancaster University. For the first term of a student’s academic life, I found myself teaching study skills to my students as it became increasingly obvious that many students simply had no idea of how great the learning curve is from 6th form studies to university study. This learning curve encompasses both academic and life learning skills as students inevitably move away from home/friends/family.
The topics I cover are wide-ranging and include money management, time management, effective reading, how to structure essays/reports, the role of a student, the role of an academic tutor, where to go for help and support, and much more.
I provide tailored one to one tutoring for 6th form students who are about to, or plan to, go to university. I am also available for tutoring in small groups for the same purpose.
